clothes for your shoot . . . Senior Portraits, Knoxville, TN

honestly one of the biggest questions I get is what should I wear? So I thought I'd create a whole entire post of tips, tricks and just general ideas on what to wear for your Senior Portraits!
Rule #1 BE YOURSELF. wear things you would normally wear. Do not just go out and buy a ton of stuff you think will look good on camera, if you wouldn't wear it to school - don't wear it to your senior portrait photo shoot!

Rule #2 BRIGHT COLORS ROCK. honestly pops of bright color are amazing, fun, young, hip and photography totally beautifully. Look at the senior portraits I've done in the past. see pops of color are fun!

Rule #3 DO BRING SOMETHING REALLY FORMAL. Girls bring an old prom dress that you don't mind having a little fun in. because let's face it a lot of times pictures from formal dances aren't the best and a few portraits in your favorite formal will be beautiful and fun.
Rule #4 BRING ACCESSORIES & PROPS. meaning bring a few of hats/scarves/lots of fun jewelery. If you play an instrument bring that, what about sports equipment, heck even a uniform. Are you a singer? Bring a microphone, you get the idea...

Rule #5 GET CREATIVE.
Think of this as a big photo shoot for teen vogue or seventeen! They've asked you to show off who you are and what your favorite clothes, what would you wear? Show off your personal style!

Rule #6 LOGOS AREN'T the BEST. Meaning you can have a few items that have logo's/brand names on them but shy away from that. Believe me in years to come you won't want senior portraits that advertise for the coolest brands of 2010.

want some ideas of what I think looks great?
these are just ideas. Remember always refer to the
#1 Rule - BE YOUR SELF
